I’ve had the pleasure of working with Francie Novar on two separate matters. In each case she helped me to achieve exactly the outcome I was hoping for. Ms. Novar really works with you. Or at least she works diligently for me. I searched for a few lawyers to help with my FOC case. Being a father who lives in another state but has a child in washtenaw county just makes things harder. She is patient with me, even when I'm not very patient.

Ms. Novar is a good person which transcends into her being a good lawyer. I'm grateful for her services. When I tried to link up with Dads of Michigan or other organizations to help me as a father they never offered me what I found here. If you have a family or friend of the court case I would recommend Ms. Novar she is worth the money.

P.S. she charges very reasonably compared to lawyers who asked me for 3500-4k upfront and 350 n hour for their services (I'm not sure what her non family court charges are so don't quote me). Just know I think highly enough to write a review with 6 stars.

Francie Novar handled my divorce in 2014.  To this day, I refer to her as my little pit bull attorney! We had a very complicated case that resulted in a two-day trial for a divorce. (Believe it or not!)  She is amazingly thorough and dedicated to getting answers and building the strongest case possible. We also had a VERY difficult and temperamental judge who flipped back and forth on us.  But in the end, Ms. Novar was able to convince her of our arguments and was also very creative in her approach.  The judgement weighed heavily in our favor, compared to what my spouse was asking for.  And by the way, I had tried mediation before contacting Ms. Novar, and was advised to settle out of court, as there are "certain guidelines" the courts would use to establish spousal support.  Well, she blew those guidelines out of the water with the case she presented!  Just for a frame of reference - it was a 28-yr marriage in which my husband wanted support to the tune of $230,000 plus legal fees. He got $35,000 and no legal fees!  I'd recommend Ms Novar 10 times over, not only for her legal expertise, but also because she is simply a great person.

Seriously I wanted to share how great a service I have been receiving from Ms. Novar. We still have a ways to go but I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm a father in another state with a daughter in Ypsi. Ms. Novar really has been working hard so I can see my daughter first Skype than visits.

I can only speak on my experience but if you have been getting shafted by foc recommendations and you know you deserve more.  Start putting some cash aside and hire Ms. Novar. It's worth the money,  and honestly she is less expensive than alot of the other lawyers I called around to. Plus she seemed more receptive to me.  She will school you on what you need to do vs what you have been doing.  She is very patient (I'm sure I pushed her buttons being demanding ) and will guide you if you are willing to listen.  

I feel like if you're reading this it's because you need a family lawyer so let me be the first to say I would hire Ms. Novar again and again.

She knows the law and never attempts to take short cuts or the easy way out. Highly recommend, especially for complex and contentious litigation in family law.
